Riesau has served as President of the American Indian & Cowboy Artists (A.I.C.A.) for two years. He was one of only 75 sculptures nationwide invited to the Danada Gardens Sculpture Show in Chicago in 1993.

Having spent ten years with the Los Angeles county Sheriff's Department, one of the most gratifying experiences in art was a monument commissioned for the California State Capitol. That monument combined his love of both art and law enforcement. It is a monument for law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty, and stands 14 feet high, across from the State Capitol in Sacramento.

Other commissions include a monumental bronze for Point Loma College in San Diego, a life-size portrait of Sylvester "Pat" Weaver, former President of NBC, and a life-size portrait of Dr. Frank Stanton, former president of CBS, both for the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Other major commissions include Eric Severied, TV Commentator, Producer David Wolper, Howard Cosell, Sportscaster, Kenneth T. Norris for the Norris Theatre for the Performing Arts, two life-size figures for Elk Grove, Illinois Park District, and two monumental pieces for the County of San Bernardino, California

Vic Riesau is a Signature member of the California Art Club, and has work in major museums, including the Autry Museum in Los Angeles.
