H. L. "Erin" Harnett (1932-2009)

As a Bermuda-born, British subject, H. L. "Erin" Harnett began receiving honors from the Royal Drawing Society of England at age eight. She was schooled in Bermuda and the United States at Greenbrier, W.V. and Harcum, Bryn Mawr, PA.
Since moving to California, Erin worked in many branches of the art world--commercial artist, fabric designer, draftsman and landscape designer. She was at home in most media, including oil, acrylic, watercolor, pen and ink, scratch board and sculpture.
Erin painted in the style of her ancestor, William M. Harnett (1848-1892), known for his detailed still life and "trompe l'oeil". She mastered her techniques in five countries (Bermuda, Jamaica, Canada, Mexico and Tahiti) in addition to her work in the United States. Erin produced and sold over 1,000 artworks, as well as over 180,000 prints to date. She exhibited with many fine galleries and her work is now exclusive with the Lee Youngman Galleries in Calistoga, California.
Among her many honors and awards, Erin was the recipient of the Loew Cornell Paillard Award in the International Society of Artists Juried Art Show.
